Dont count Parallels out. They will eventually have multicore support in their app, and i am sure will keep getting better over time.

wow, how spectacularly awful.

My phone seems to not accept calls about 5% of the time, and I'm pissed with that.

I'm waiting for the iPhone price war to reduce the price to be somewhat sensible now there's competition for it.

I think it makes sense that so many different sources have different ideas. After the iphone4 leak I could see Apple purposely leaking false info to keep the hype up until september and prevent a real leak. Any thoughts on that?

wow. i'm very surprised that ya'll are folding on an air. it seems the fans come on my air when watching a youtube video.

Might as well right, the fan is pretty much on 24/7 at 6200RPM when I'm at home lol. The only time I see 2500/4000 RPM fans is when I'm at the library or in class. At home, I have music blazing in the background so a little fan noise don't matter.

If it did come out end of April. People will still buy it. Some people simply just don't know about Apple release cycles and will see it and jump to it if their contract is up.

Wow, really? So he's got a White iPhone 4? Did you see it?

Now, when they're talking of a replacement, are they thinking of killing Charlie's character off and Rob Lowe (or whomever) would be some new character that comes out of nowhere, it would they keep Charlie's character, swap actors, and act as if nothing happened?

I think Rob could pull-off the sardonic character very well, but they will probably go with a name change just the same.

Chartists come to absurd conclusions, such as AAPL having support at 60. This means a trailing P/E based on current earnings (without growth) of around 15. At 40, we're talking a P/E of ten. This assumes that AAPL's growth days are over, as of now. Does anything we know about the company, including its historical growth and product offerings comport with the idea of Apple turning into Dow Chemical? I don't think so.

PE's historically range between 7(bear lows) and 18 (bull highs) so 10 would be about the point where the weekly P&F chart (54) turns bearish.

However you must consider that AAPL is 100% discretionary consumer spending so when recession hits consumers will cut back in favour of things like food and oil. Want another negative, here is one, 18 billion in cash...held in a fast depreciating currency (lost half its value over the past 6 years). Or how about this, DRM free music, sure to result in more file sharing and less iTunes sales. And on the topic of iTunes, another negative, all that new competition...one of them is sure to break the AAPL hold on that market.

That weekly P&F chart is the worst I have seen in the past 5 years

Speak for yourself.

Small minded thinking is not something I subscribe to.

So are you going to invest in an electric car right away? Or wait until the infrastructure is fully put in to place to make it worthwhile?

I will say the market seems to disagree.
It seems to be 4-4.3 in screens is the sweet spot. 4.5 seems to be 2 big but 4-4.3 people seem to like.

I know most people like that size of screen. However, I hate it. The 3GS is the perfect size imo. Slides in the pocket nice and easy, but, the screen isn't so tiny you can't press anything either.

So long as Apple doesn't mess with the size of the device, I'll be indifferent. I just don't want to carry something as big as some of the Android devices I've seen.

Let's face it: Apple is a monopoly, but with such a small market share, it is a monopoly that we have freely chosen to deal with. We Mac consumers cannot go to the DOJ and claim we have no alternatives (just because your alternatives suck doesn't mean you don't have them.) If Apple were wildly successful and exceeded this threshold market share, their business model may be interfered with by the government.
First, being a monopoly is not a crime. Using your dominant market power to eliminate competitors in your or other fields could be a crime. It is called "Anti-Trust Act", not "Anti-Monopoly Act."

Yes, Apple is the only supplier if you want to run OSX, but OSX is not a "market." It is one of many operating systems out there. That's like saying Ford is a monopoly, because Ford does not let you buy a Ford from another manufacturer.

This is what interests me:

“Looking forward, 2007 is likely to be one of the most exciting new product years in Apple’s history.”
Yep. Good things happening at Apple!

Looks like we can expect to see some nice innovations in 2007.

Yeah, when the poll was loading I expected 80-90% to be concerned about security, turns out only 40% are. So many ignorant "blissful" people that excuse Apple and think "It's Apple, of course it's safe". Obviously it's not. Ten serious exploits in about as many days of looking (they spent 30 days total, about an equal amount on linux and mac, and the rest on other OS's, so 10 should be right) and that is just scratching the surface. I was shocked that Apple actually had so many vulnerabilities, and for those that didn't find it scary that someone can install a program with kernel access simply by having you download their dmg file (not even opening it), well they're just being silly and need to realize that this is and some extremely bad things can happen if we are to go by that analysts words (saying OS X is not hot on security and that it is easy to find new hacks). :p

Not at all. I voted no, and I did so because I've spent enough time reading through vulnerability assesments to know that all software has problems, therefore I tend not to light my hair on fire and run around screaming the sky is falling the minute someone finds a flaw or a vector of flaws like the MOKB. Instead, I pay attention to the results, take steps to mitigate any possible problems, and then wait for the Security Update from Apple. The sooner the update happens, like the quick fix for the iAdware flaw, the happier I am.

Furthermore, one of the MOKB flaws is just a bug and is not actually a security vulnerability. The dmg vulnerability, wherein a malformed disk image can crash OS X and during this inject uknown code, has been debunked according to this guy (http://alastairs-place.net/2006/11/dmg-vulnerability/).

So, no I'm not concerned. I'm watchful, but I'm going to withhold the running and screaming and the Apple-better-*******-fix-this! rant until something serious happens.

If you look at the illustrations, this is far larger than an iPod screen, especially for two handed control as depicted. Not that the tech can't be used for an iPod, but my guess this is going to be a tablet-like device positioned somewhere between the iPod and iMac. Steve Jobs and Apple have stated before that the Intel deal lets them envision a whole range of products not out there, especially fast chips that use less power. Also, macsimimumnews has revealed a trademark filing for a "doPod" that seems to suggest an iPod on steroids.

I believe this is a companion device that's not quite a full mac, but more functionality than an iPod, and be sized somewhere in between. At home, it could connect to your network and control your music through AirPort Express, or movies on FrontRow through your TV. Or you can take it with you and watch movies, check email, or read books (tying in the Engadget rumor on books). To keep the price point reasonable, I imagine it will be mostly a "player" rather than running full-fledged apps, but something like e-mail could be possible with the touch screen.

I'm guessing that the touchless interface could be a major part of Leopard and point to a new breed of hardware and form factors that Steve J and Apple have been hinting at.

How long after you make a purchase does the App Store remember your password so you don't have to enter it again? I presume that's what happened in this case.
