Unfortunately the system does not work that way. Let me ask you this. If you believed in being result oriented and time bound and made an investment to file your green card, when do you think the investment will pay off? Some things money can't buy, it takes tonnes and tonnes of energy to make a change. Believe in this organization and invest your time in helping this organization.

Consider everyone here part of a family and remember everyone who works tirelessly work for all of us, not just them. I tried saying the same thing in all my posts. But people are just not willing to organize themselves to help themselves. Everyone wants the issue to be fixxed, but no one wants to come forward.
Everyone asks about IVs agenda. IVs agenda is clear - "IV has given you a platform, so help yourself". If people are willing to take up a cause - IV will support. But our people do not want it. People want to discuss, crib and cry and blame IV and fight.

I have a problem. in the given name, the middle name is entered first and the first name is entered after the middle name in the passport
(Given name: <middle name><first name>).
so while applying for the visa, they ask for first and middle names (as present in the passport)
Do I need to give the name as it is typed in the passport or can I give first name and then give middle name. Will there be any problem by rearranging the given name in the visa application?
Will it create a problem while getting social security number?? should I change the name in the passport? please suggest me....what should I do?

I emailed my lawyer too, A**hole is just repeating that he needs Her Legal name in USA. All her Tax filings, Licence, Social security etc have <First Name>, <Last Name> format. Passport doesn't have surname and Visa has First name - FNU and Surname - Firstname last name. Don't know what to do.

I am starting to see a trend in the receipt notices.
Some of the people reporting getting recepit notices this week (yesterday and today) have LUDs of 07/28/07. My thinking is that This week will see receipt notices for everyone with an LUD of 07/28/07
HOPEFULLY next week will see receipt notices for 08/05/2008. This is just my observation.
People please post your LUDs for your I-140, the service center AND how your receipt numbers start (SRC vs LIN) each time you post a receipt notice.
Can you let us know how to access LUD from USCIS after login? I think many will appreciate if you do so

I am a new member; just joined 59secs ago. I read some of the posts and know that there are some Singaporeans in this thread who have applied for the H1B1 visa under the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. Questions:
1. How long does the process of applying for the USSFTA H1-B1 take?
2. Where is the best place to apply for the USSFTA H1-B1 visa?
Please advise especially if you have already done it. I am about to start the process. Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thank you to all members here and core members. I have been watching this thread since June 30. I can't believe this is actually happening.
I was the one who DID NOT send any flowers because I was simply scared.
I was the one who DID NOT contribute any donation to IV.
I was the one who wouldn't do rally, simply I did not think it's gonna work.
Now, I am very happy. At the same time, I shame myself.
Once again, I bow to all members who actually did something & contributed something to this community and entire legal immigrants. I will remember this day even when I get a citizenship in the future.
Finally, I like to make a donation to this community. However, let me finish my I-485 filing NOW! lol gotta send this to my laywer tomorrow morning...

No, we want ALL pregnant women every where to come to US to give birth so we can get to pay for there care.
that is so much bullshit.... no one is asking caring for "ALL" pregnant women...... just take care of the once already here...... becoz before immigration status...... comes human dignity & respect for human life...... basic human rights for a pregnant woman & the new born child demands care.... not shackles...... regardless of immigration status...... just put u'r self in the shoe of that woman..... if u'r new born is treated like this..... what'll u do...... i'm sure in that case no one here will be reading u'r cheap comments.....

And you need to do better than just posting links to ACLU and other left leaning websites if you want to forcibly argue your point. Somebody in this forum was pointing out how the majority here seem to favor illegal immigrants. Let me point out that Apraio was elected democratically in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. Apparently voters in his county have a different point of view about illegal immigrants and have no problems voting him again repeatedly.

Is this period (July 1st 2004 to Feb 28th 2005) considered as Legal Status assuming the following scenario
1.company Applied for H1 transfer on July 1st 2004
2.Started taking Training from the companyfrom July 1st 2004 and finished Training on 30th Aug 2004
3.Started the client project and got payslips from Sep1st 2004 till 15th Feb 2005
4.Got employment letter from company from July 1st 2004 to 28th Feb 2005
If I am not mistaken, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they apply for a H1 transfer. You have 240 day period, in which it must be approved. You should be ok, assuming that you got the approval within 240 days of July 1st 2004.
