I am from AZ and Sherrif Joe is the best and the whole country should be proud of him.
He is doing the job which is supposed to be done by Federal govt and ICE, trying to take care of a border state county.

Saguar, this is not a simple issue and we cannot just this as an independent event. Yes these people are here ilegally but what do they do; work. Yes they work for meagre wages and reduce the price of commodities which would otherwise need to be imported from elsewhere. Now we have heard that due to some of the raids innocent children were torn apart from their parents who never came back from work. children came back from school to learn that they will never see their parents again. whole towns, churches and communities cried out in anguish when such events happen. The pain is tremendous. when you allow a problem to get so deep rooted into the society often the best way to handle it is to first accept it and then plan carefully. You cannot suddenly start deporting a minor fraction of these folks who have indeed contributed to the economy directly/indirectly. You can import cheap goods from other countries but people are now realizing that it is better to import labor and have work done here. This raids and intolerance has an element of hatred mixed in and it is not only about "law". Churches came forward to hide and protect the children who were affected by the raids. shouldn't the children be evicted too??

The church encourages it as most of the illegals are catholics. Poor and illeterate people are usually more likely to attend church and contributes to the churches influence. Believe me, were the Mexicans muslims, Jews or Hindus the church wouldnt care and would probably oppose it. The mosques and temples on the other hand might step in..............

A US citizen who commits burglary, driving without a license, outstanding fines could easily be facing a jail term. The article wants you to feel outraged because her leg was shackled? Please read the headline again. Their strategy is to demonize the law enforcement when ever they try to enforce the law against illegals.

hi can somebody please tell me that after doing DDS/DMD(doctorate of dental surgery) can we apply under H1B master quota
If she works for a hospital which can do a H1B for her then 'Yes', but if she wabts to start up of her own, she can not petition for herself. I haven't seen any hospitals having dentists on their payrolls. Mostly it is the ER staff like cardiologists, anestheologists, surgeons.

I had the first-hand opportunity to meet and see IV core members working for our cause. Really, it gives you the chill that thinking its the same GC everyone on this forum wants but the dedication with which they are approaching is amazing. There is no point talking about what we "could have done" after the congress session is over and god forbid, our bill doesn't pass through. 2008 is all about elections and the citizens, not too much of immigration will come to forefront, so please think.....

I would say if you are getting a good opportunity, do not loose it for the sake of September Visa bulletin. Do not send the AC21 documents to USCIS. If RFE comes, you can respond quickly by hoping that they will approve your case at the same time. In case, if you don't get RFE (chances are more), you might get GC right away.

How can an IO be ignorant of the infamous july fiasco ?
good idea...IV should write this to Ombudsman.
We should also get a survey/feedback form from the IO for AOS interviews, POE etc so we can send the feedback to USCIS. The form should include date, time , IO name etc and survey questions...Only then USCIS can improve their service.

No green card for you. Just work well for 6 years, enjoy life in US, enjoy sports cars by renting, not by buying, rent a big house, have a lawn and garden in back yard, grow your own vegetables. Have nice vacations like Hawaii, Jamaican islands, Vegas, Porto Rico etc.,Have fun in life. Do not go for green card. After 6 years, get nice job in India,own apartment near to office and ask your parents to live with you. Take kids to school . Have fun with them. Try to become director, AVP,VP,SVP,CEO,CTO and President. Do not go for green card. After you become director, buy a single family home and mercedez or BMW and have fun. I am really sorry about your situation. While, it is true that there is a lot under USCIS' adjudicator's control, we need to give it our best try and exhaust our options before we give up. I think that being Indian, IT and skilled (I am all 3 !) does not have that much of a bearing on one's life situations and connection to green card being approved. Case in point : I went through a rough time myself (see beginning of the thread) and even paid the price (divorce, heartbroken) for taking a chance. However, everyones situation is unique.
If you can post details of your case, then someone from here is sure to be able to give you some guidance. One last piece of advice, there is no substitute for a damn good lawyer who can get you the results. It might not come cheap though. There are instances of people having accrued unlawful stays beyond 1 year and lawyers having gotten them their EB based green cards later through CP using tricks such as waivers etc.
Where there's a will, there's a way.

The only one-time $50 contribution option I saw was the one that said "$50 and subscribe for one month", I assume that was a one time $50 option.
Not that I don't want to contribute on a recurrent basis, but I already have an indefinite $50 recurring option set up since 2007.
And I look forward to seeing y'all in the "Contributors only" forum.
