I think we all should VOTE in this poll.
You will waste your time if you vote in Lou Dobbs polls. His pools are rigged. These polls start in the loo as they begin by giving 100,000 votes to his ideological point of view and 0 votes in support of the opposite view. Hence the disclaimer to the pools. I suggest that we simply ignore him and don't participate in his pool. It would be one less human being giving Lou Dobbs no value, making him inconsequential one person at a time.

When one should feel to donate, they can donate. Doesn't mean that you donated, means everyone should donate.
It is about donation, not Haptaa-vasooli.....
So, before taunting anyone you should understand the meaning of "Donation".
Hold on .... I am NOT taunting any one . Even I did not contribute for many months . I had a major conflict with many IV members including Papu regarding some of IVs objectives.
While I still hold my views , I can see IVs effort in other directions as well and that made me contribute to specific efforts.

I would have said what Phani said. Essentially, you must be on valid H1-B status; otherwise your husband's H-4 status is not valid. This means that you must remain employed in US as an US employee (get your paycheck in US, pay all US taxes, file US tax returns, etc.). For a short duration, it may be possible to remain an US employee and work from India (as a business trip), but I do not see that happening on a permanent basis.

We sent our I 485 on July 4th.......got receipt of it yesterday. My husband is on H1 and I am on F1. Husband's receipt says "Adjustment as direct beneficiary of immigrant petetion" and mine says " Derivative adjustments"........
Also what does receipt notice means????
I don't know what "UNKNOWN" means. My wife is on her F1 (OPT). Same is the case with my friend. Both of our's says unknown.

Go to maxico but getting visa of Mexico from US is difficult on B1/B2. Canadian visa for her on B1/B2 visa is impossible. Check and call other near by countries visa consulate as well as US consular visa officer for the availibility of dates of H4 visa interview.

I also work for Big4, but I work in IT. Wait time depends on your country of birth and the category of your application. If you are from India or China in Eb3, then you would be better off not applying because you will most likely retire before you get your green card.
It may be helpful to apply in Eb2. I am not sure if CFA Lvl 2 will qualify you for Eb2. But if you have Masters degree in your area of expertise then Eb2 should not be an issue. Performance bonus is not a measure of exceptional ability for Eb2.
You will have to provide more details or you will have to understand the process to estimating the time it will take for the approval. Given the size of the backlog, Eb2 is always better than Eb3. Ultimately, it depends on your employer and your job requirement.

Its been over 3 weeks since my wife have H4 interview and the passport is still under "admin processing". This week her AP came and I have mailed it to her and now we want to get the passport back and travel on AP.
Now if anyone knows or done the process of getting the passport back from Delhi Consulate, can they please explain?

I went for my H1B renewal at New Delhi on jan 14th and i am still waiting. Today is the 22nd calendar day. Has your wife got the pp back ? she appeared at ND as well ? Has she got any information from consulate or VFS ? what should we be doing in such a situation ?

My application reached NSC (as per FedEx tracking) on July 24.
My co-workers who filed to NSC thru' same lawyer all got receipts and FP notices. Many of them filed weeks after.
My checks have NOT been encashed yet. Neither I have received any updates on receipts or any kind of processing.
USCIS offers no help and told me to wait for 90 days. Lawyer has the same opinion. Last USCIS receipting update shows that all centers have processed upto July 29 applications.
My last name starts with 'z' and my co-workers are making fun of me that USCIS processes AOS applications alphabetically based on last name :o

Hey, Do not worry !! this is one of the most inconsistant processes , I have seen since long time. Just sit back and relax, it will come through. In my case, I applied on 24th July and got the case # from USCIS by calling them but check are still not cashed.

I transferred H1B from a teaching job (cap exempt) to a consulting company. As far as I remember, the H1B quota for companies was over at that time. I did not hear any complaints. Maybe my lawyer took care of it.
You should check to make sure.
May be you got lucky. AFAIK, transfers from non-profit/edu to for profit are always counted against the H1B visa number availability.

My RFE, which was issued on July 20, 2007, was for my employer's ITR . My lawyer said the deadline is 12 weeks from the RFE date. I think she has not been updated on the new ruling. Now we only have up to next Friday to submit everything. I'm so so worried!!!
If you have access to the RFE from USCIS , try to get a copy of it . It should say how much time you have to respond. They will mention "On or before a date". I dont know if all the services centers have implemented the flex time response for RFE/NOIDs. Be on top of things , just dont let your lawyer or employer say anything else.

Not that I am getting paranoid, I suspect social issues if economy worsens..Rising crime and other social issues do come up in tough economic conditions.
Recently one of my friends was targeted in a racial abuse, something which was unheard in the area where I live in. I see gang signs allover the area where I live. It was not like that one year ago.

It happens to one guy last week.
My friend knows it for SURE.
He is working for a software company and that was the first time he traveled to US on a H1B visa.
As soon as he landed in JFK, the immigration officers (4 of them) went to him and gave him "Green Card".
No PERM :rolleyes:, No I-140 :rolleyes: and No-I-485 :rolleyes:.
How is that?
PS: On the same day they ordered "Expedited Removal and 50 Years Bar" and sent him back. He left US happy with his "Green Card".

Don't worry abt the receipt date on the transfer notice. It is the date on which yor app was entered in the system, Your RN for 485 (which you have not received yet) will have the july 26th as RD and would have sept 26th as ND

We had sent our apps to Nebraska on July 26 but we received a transfer notice for 485 from vermont with a receipt date of Sept 26 and notice date of Oct 3.
I always thought the receipt date of my application is the day when our application reached the center.
Can someone help explaining this....
