Can IV admins, Realizeit and team, plese come up with an action plan from various replies on this thread and post it on IV's front page so that we can start working on it and contributing towards it?
Grazie.

Can we propose a bill which would give us - the honest, sincere, law abiding aliens - a time bound path to Green Card and Citizenship?
Political parties only talk and seem to be interested in giving illegals a time bound path to citizenship? They even introduced a "Dream Act" in favour their children. Why should we / our children be sidelined?
Can we request for a bill which would:
1.Grant GC to all EB 2 / 3 class pimary applicants who have completed 8 years of continuous stay in the USA without any criminal record.
2. Provide Citizeship to all EB primary applicants who have completed 12 years of continuous stay without any criminal record
Note:
When the primary applicant is issued a GC / Citizenship, the dependents (spouse and kids) should get the same benefit.
The current system is designed to favour ONLY the employers and the law firms, not the humble, hard working EB class slave who toils.
I think we shud first understand the difference between legislation and amending constitution. What you are suggesting requires amending or re-writing part of fourteenth Amendment of constitution to grant citizenship based on the x number of years of legal stay without going through the process of first getting the permanent resident status. And any attempt to amend the constitution is highly unlikely. Similarly the process of getting GC also falls under this category instead in contrast you can fix the issues more justly through legislation/congressional action which is more realistic to fix the broken immigration system like the visa recapture or removing per country quota or allowing someone to file 485 without thier dates being current etc etc., and that is what IV is working on and is more doable. Pappu or someone from IV, pls correct me if I am wrong.
when getting this through mere legislation itself is such a big task with so much of time, resources, money involved for lobbying imagine asking them to amend the constitution is highly unrealistic.
bottom line work with IV and or come up with ideas that can be resolved via legislation instead of repealing 14th amendment of the constitution. Unless someone here thinks that this can be just implemented via legislation then pls enlighten me....

I have no words for people in this forum, suggesting the person to just be quite and not report about that nanny who has harmed a child who is just 8 months old...it is very sad, sickening, and shocking that a majority of you guys are giving such bad suggestion.
Your first instinct as a parent is to protect your child.
If the child is harmed and you have the proof, man!!!! I would not be discussing that on this forum, but would go straight to the police station and give the complaint and protect my child and scores of other child who might be next if that nanny is not booked by the authorities.
She has advertised in a web site. It not going to be a big crime if you unknowingly hire someone who happens to be not authorized to work. At most its a misdemeanor with a fine.
But keeping quite after seeing what that devil has done to a child, it really bogs my mind, can't imagine why you folks are so afraid.
Report it to the authorities soon...believe me, you would not regret it for the rest of your life.
Immigration and IRS are not linked in any way: Just found this on the internet, does it make any sense?
Families who decide to hire or retain their illegal immigrant employees are able to comply with all of the current payroll tax reporting requirements, even if the worker does not have a valid Social Security number or US Work Authorization. The Internal Revenue Code prohibits the sharing of taxpayer information with other government agents - see THE PRIVACY ACT OF 1974 5 U.S.C. 552a. HomeWork Solutions' staff can assist employers in this tax compliance, including preparation of back tax returns. Remember, tax compliance by illegal immigrants does not confer work authorization, but non-compliance will make them ineligible for future legal status.

so if i ask you why EB2 filers should spend extra years getting educated and never getting this all important magic "PD" and then get in line behind someone who got a job the day they entered the country- and got a PD soon enough- what would you say?
ask me. it took me 11 years to get a PD. why? for 7 of those years i was getting my advanced education. so why should i suffer behind the 3 year Indian degree person (against my 7 years there as well) who came in 5 years after me and filed right away?
.
Dear Mr. pascal,
Given that you are the super moderator, how can you even hint that EB3 vs EB2 reflect skill level of employee - don't you know by now that category is determined by "job's Requirement"?!!!!!!
Also your stereotyping of all EB3s as 3 year Indian degree holder is the most unfortunate - I only hope that rest of the IV leadership is not made up of that crappy idea.
For the record, I hold US Master's degree and am really offended by your comment and your view point.
For the rest of the members reading this topic, this is exactly why being EB3 on IV is becoming more frustrating by the day... especially when the super mods posses such views...
I am sorry forthis is wandering away from topic, but everyone including super mod mr. pascal has done that on this thread.

Update from Pappu:
As everyone is aware of the FOIA letters we have received from USCIS. We requested everyone to fax/email us the USCIS letter.
Here is an update on IV plans and what we know till now:
On Friday, during the discussions with USCIS, we came to know that that there is a backlog of FOIA requests and currently they are clearing FOIA requests they received in 2007. We also know from the letter that the report wll not have 'country of chargeability' info. This is a critical info that we ought to have. Even after paying 5K to USCIS, over one year wait time to get the FOIA request completed will be unacceptable to the community.
In light of these developments we have explored other options to get this data and use the copies of replies we get as an example how badly we need this data to get accurate picture of the size and breakdown of the current backlog, so that we can all know how long we need to wait in the current system, if nothing changes. We would also ideally like such data to be always available and updated for public periodically.
Our first option is that we put in effort to get this data without having to pay $5K to USCIS. We will also try to get the data much sooner rather than all of us wait for more than a year. This could be possible via advocacy effort and our initial discussions on this subject have been promising. We will pursue this and if we do not make much progress until the deadline then we may pay 5K and still pursue the advocacy option to get the data faster. Thus we need more than 5K to proceed with these parallel options. The advocacy effort will also be an ongoing task beyond the first month. Thus we request members to sign up for recurring payment option to support this initiative and any other initiative we undertake for the community.
We have added a paypal module on the top of each page with a target amount. Members can use this fresh tool added to IV website to contribute. We prefer if members contributing to the effort on recurring monthly basis for a long term support of IV efforts. All members who contribute through this system will also have access to special 'Contributor's Forum' on the IV website.
Thank You for your effort and contribution for building a stronger community.

Thank you to all members here and core members. I have been watching this thread since June 30. I can't believe this is actually happening.
I was the one who DID NOT send any flowers because I was simply scared.
I was the one who DID NOT contribute any donation to IV.
I was the one who wouldn't do rally, simply I did not think it's gonna work.
Now, I am very happy. At the same time, I shame myself.
Once again, I bow to all members who actually did something & contributed something to this community and entire legal immigrants. I will remember this day even when I get a citizenship in the future.
Finally, I like to make a donation to this community. However, let me finish my I-485 filing NOW! lol gotta send this to my laywer tomorrow morning...
you guys are awesome. good luck with your filing!

Addendum:
I remember the IO asking my spouse about being a member of a job-related professional association. My spouse used to be a member of such an organization and mentioned so. The IO then remarked that such membership is a requirement for such kind of a job. She then just let it go, however.

Itsnotfunny,
I am okay with both options, whichever meets consensus.
If we do it the non-IV route, then I think I agree with Malibuguy007, freeloaders don't deserve shit.

Can we have some tieup with some flower delivering company? Like, for each floer ordered by IV member, some percentage will be donated to IV. But the point is every one from here will order the flowers through them. Any thoughts?
That is a nice thought, if you know anybody that will donate the money to IV please let us know. (Pun intented). :D
