The idea that core wants to float is to have an effective campaign under the IV umbrella. Please come up with more innovative ideas and discuss with core.
I think this campaign can be pretty effective if we want it to. This idea is not totally outlandish. If you recall, recently fans of the CBS series Jericho sent nuts to the office of CBS when that series was discontinued.
Sometime back, Indians in the UK sent thousands of unstamped letters to their postal department, protesting a stamp that hurt their religious sentiments.

Hi, I have a question regarding the exempt cap for non profit H-1. I will graduate with a masters in education in 2008 and already have job offers to work in public schools.
My question was -
- does public school employment qualify under the non profit H-1B exempt category?
- Should I apply under the Masters quota?
Please reply as I have been searching for answers for a few weeks....

H-1B for secondary public schools does not qualify for the non profit H-1B exempt category. But since you have a Masters from the US you will fall under the 20,000 visas slot. Your employer will not have to pay for the H1B training fee of $1,500 at the time of filing. Good Luck!

I completely dis agree with you. This action item is completely different. As realiseit mentioned earlier, we should take one step at a time. we have another thread revlvoing around the IV for prefiling of AOS. Please see http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23695
If you have any innovative ideas please come forward and once we gain enough momentum then we can request entire communtiy (including who have applied for AOS) to help us with the effort.

Is IV only for those who have filed I485?
I gave my opinion and people gave me lot of reds. There is a majority here who already have EAD and have filed I485. You people do not care for those who are less fortunate and struggling in the early stages of the process. If July 07 had not happened, all of you would be asking for I485 filing option today.
By giving reds to people who disagree you will drive people away and make IV only for those who have filed I485 and not for the entire EB immigration people.

also got the following response for a service request i put in. did not know what to make out of it - is it just a regular response or is this true
The status of this service request is:
A review of this case indicates that it appears to be outside of the normal processing times, however processing times that are posted on our internet website are approximate and not exact. This case is considered to be within our current processing time. USCIS is aware that according to the Department of State?s Visa Bulletin, there appear to be visas available however there has been an extremely large volume of case requiring visas. Therefore your category may have already reached the maximum amount of visas available, so please continue to watch the Visa Bulletin in the future to check for visa availability for your category.
I would be damned if they issued a visa bulletin after being aware of the fact that the visas are over. this is just to cause anxiety and stress to people waiting in the line and just playing with their emotions. this is something really horrible and we should take this very very seriously if those fuckin assholes are not doing their job appropriately.

Could not able to understand from where this EB2 Vs EB3 scenario came up, silly.
If somebody says EB3 filer is inferior to EB2 (in a way), then it is ridicules. Being said that, nobody has asked to them to opt for EB3, it was just the situation they were in when they started their GC journey. Let it be their educational qualification, experience or job requirement, they opted to go with EB3 with full consciousness and also due to some compelling reasons. If EB2 dates are moving forward why EB2 filers needs to be blamed / targeted for that? This doesn’t make any sense either.
Also, now nobody is stopping them to convert from EB3 to EB2.
Let us just stop this EB2 Vs EB3 crap and do something constructive. These kinds of fights will not take us anywhere.

Also I am trying to start my own IT training firm there so with gods on my side in 4-5 years that company can grow to a mid size firm.
Can you elaborate on your decision to start your own IT training firm (as opposed to a IT service provider)? I grew up in bangalore and there were a large number of training institutes back in the day. I am curious to know how your training firm is going to be different from others.
