Since I did not set up the website, I am not sure how members and guests are counted, but I can tell you from my own experience that I log in when I have something to say or when I get prompted. So many times if I just come and quickly see what is new, I do not log in,....that might be lazy but I figure many do this, hence the number you see could be 300 members and 133 guests or so....
I see 136 members and 297 guests online! I wonder why guests have more tensions than members?

This is perfect time, IV core team members has to concentrate to push this bill in all its possible means. I am sure political climate is in favor of CIR bil in capito hill. Infact most of americans want this to be done to collect lot of taxes.

First step - Write to WWJ Radio and let them know your concerns about the airtime provided to such nativist views which will result in attacks against foreigners.
Second, let's all call up/attend his show and dispute his views with facts, such as Presidents Economical report, DoL statistics on Full-Employment Economy. Lets corner him on issues such as collapse of the Social Security system if number of Tax payers decreases, and how does he intend to stop it without increasing Immigration as American fertility levels are currently below replacement levels. We can ask him if he proposes the Government should increase taxes instead which will place him on a sticky wicket.

If Gandhi can sucessfully take on the mighty British Empire "where the Sun never sets" with just a loin cloth and a staff, We are better equipped with Megaphones and Placards! Agreed I'm not a Gandhi, but then neither is Lou Dobbs, the emperor of a mighty empire with millions of soldiers at his command.

For me I have to renew H-1 visa every year wich will be same as EAD/AP. Each time I would go for H-1 visa I will be stuck for security clearance making me stay outside US without work for unknown number of months which is the worst experience that can happen to anyone not the grey area of AOS.
But to get EAD/AP I do not need to step outside US neither do I need to wait for security clearance and I hope to travel home when I want.
So to me EAD/AP is better than H-1visa.
If I get EAD/AP can I go for H-1 stamping?

check the latest release on July 17.pdf. I am not sure how many applications are rejected on july 2nd ...If one did not recieve rejected package it means,they are going to honor the application as long as initial evidence is right.

Throwing money at scholarships and education incentives dont make people choose a profession they dont like. If they want to be lawyers and doctors and managers, they wont force themselves to go for tech degrees and diplomas just because they get thousands of dollars in scholarships.
People in this country are lucky enough to go for professions they like to do and they would pay money to get it rather than look for discounts on tech degrees.
Even if they do get tech degrees, they wont work in that profession.
So rather than create bogus incentives, why not just impose higher taxes on H1B earning and give that money free to former US citizen computer "Programmers" and cut to the chase rather than create training and education incentives they will never respond to.
This amendment is for placating US citizens computer "Programmers" and "Progammer's" guild.
Well, keep doing that.

Last year facing long period of uncertainity I and my wife had made a decision to go back to India after meeting breaking even on our house.
I think most of us wanted to be in US in the first place because we thought that legal systems work here and justice is upheld. If we have to fight with the system anyway, why do it in a foreign land? Better to go home and make that place better .. probably good enough for them to envy.
As of now this country seems to be exactly opposite of what they claim to be.
Justice - not served to us
Freedom & liberty - not if you are on H1
Free economy & globalization - Only if it benefits us
Compassion & Humanitarianism - Only if you are American citizens. We don't care if farmers are comitting suicides in India or starving in Mexico due to our policies & subsidies.
The way I see it American dream is going to turn into American nightmare for many of us.

My attorney sent the I-485 papers on 7/16 and it reached NSC on 7/17 at 9:36AM. USCIS announcement to accept the applicatons was done on 7/17 evening. Will mine be in the potential rejection pile? Any input will be appreciated.

when i spoke i didnt speak to normal CS rep they forwarded to me Info officer at Nebraska service center , now the key point is they clearly informed us that they have withdrawn the earlier notice and they said they have to open these july files. If they have just completed june filings they wouldnt have even touched july ones for sure. May be the ones returned which are very small in number are for casing whose dates are not current . for ex. if some one has sent app in normal pririty post expecting to reach on july 2 but reached early and got rejected it happened. so its pretty clear none of us have got the files back , all of three attorneys to comp said the same , my friends attorneys said the same , so we dont get in to too many things now , lets wait till next week or around 25th if we still dont receive then they asked me call back so that they can escalate this , she claims even when they reject they have to create a rejection letter and she clearly told that she was not aware that NSC did that type for these July ones.

Offcourse the time spent cannot be reimbursed, but definitely money can. Its wrong on part that one has to shed so much money.

Q.1) I understand you can't file 485 for your spouse if PD is not current but does the PD need to be current to add your spouse as a dependent on your 485 application w/o filing 485 for her?
Q.2) Q.1 raises Q.2. When the dates are no more current, is adding your spouse as a dependent on your 485 safe enuf for her to be considered for filing 485 and getting GC when the dates will be current in future.
