I am sorry srikondoji but i have to disagree on some points.
"You can come to office at 9:00AM and leave by 6:00PM. No body asks you to stay late unless you work for a consultant. No body asks you to relocate unless you again work for a consultant." .
Yes you can do that. But you work late coz people Not dependant on H1B's can leave on their scheduled times coz if they get laid off, they wont be deported if they dont get a job in 10 days. Sure there is No Formal distinction on paper between H1B's and Non H1Bs, but it is assumed that since ur application depends on the employer (entirely), you will put urself to the grind.
You could easily get a legal immigration if you opt an easier path 'Marry a local'. So, again you have opted a hard way of going through labor certs, I-140, I-48 etc.
What about people who come here already married? Now for those unmarried you have to marry a Citizen to get a Green card. Marriage is a totally seperate thing and is not something that should be used solely for getting a GC (IMHO). Sorry but i do not agree that marrying a citizen is an easier way of doing ur immigration.

The Brownback amendment that benefits all of us in one way or other is on the table for the immigration bill(Specter’s, Frist’s whichever). Thanks to Senator Brownback, his staff, our counsel QGA, our friends in AZ and PA(not in core IV team) who played a key role in convincing the staff and Senator about our problems and solutions and MOST IMPORTANTLY - YOU - the volunteers and members who supported this operation financially and morally.
Friends, the game has just begun. The fun part, the challenging part comes now. Those who are familiar with S 1932 know that the real deal is the house-senate conference committee IF the immigration bill gets any traction in Senate post recess. In a rare event that immigration bill is ignored this year, we need to focus on getting these amendments in other bills like PACE act, TALENT bill etc. Immigration Voice’s morale is like DURACELL – IT NEVER DIES. NEVER NEVER NEVER.
So , before we open that Champagne bottle let's make sure that we are ready for the next stages in this effort:
1. Getting majority of Senators to vote "Yes" on our amendment.
2. Getting the opposing amendments to defeat the good stuff out of the senate bill.
3. Protecting this amendment in the House-Senate Conference Committee.
4. Defeating the harmful provisions that may be injected by more creative minds in the House during House-Senate Conf.
5. Continued efforts to find another bill for our provisions if the immigration bill fails. (Unlikely because of millions of undocumented workers holding rallies. Something WILL HAPPEN).
All this is going to take lobbying, grass-roots efforts and a lot of work.
So now, we regroup. We gain strength. Lend a hand to the fence-sitters to join us. Convince the NAYSAYERS that this works. And we raise more funds.
Today, IV Core group sincerely requests members to whole-heartedly contribute just like you contributed before. Let's give this movement a momentum so strong and powerful that its invincible. Let us get all hands on deck.
THE GOAL:
The goal is to raise another 75,000 in 25 days. That will bring the total contributions to around 150,000 by the first of May.
We have always asked people to contribute whole-heartedly as this is a non-profit operation, no core member or volunteer makes any money on this and we are accountable to IRS due to our non-profit tax status. I totally understand the emotional point of someone being want to be a Indian Citizen but I have to stress there is no other country in the world like U.S.A. This is the country where every human being is treated with utmost respect (don't try to show me exceptions - U.S. is a country where most of things are close to being perfect imaginatively), have freedom to say anything they want without getting intimidated and U.S is a country I believe will be the last bastion for humanity when terrosists/fundamentalists spread their tentancles and take over the world by force or other means (if not now probabbly in the next 100-150 years). Hypocrisy is relatively less. We Indians live in a dream world nurtured by the Indian politicians, who try to inject doses of patriotic non-sense into the masses while they themselves stove away million of dollars in Swiss banks. 70% of Indian population lives below poverty line and the educated masses of India think that their country will become a super power by 2020. Politicians like Mayawati play caste politics and dream of taking the top most post while our liberal media, without a wee-bit of shame, extends its highest support for them. Corruption is part of our daily life and we are part of the everyday corruption but we still find no fault in our society. Our population growth is beyond control while not a single politician is concerned about the stress it is going to create on our natural resources in the future. Our education system is in shambles but our great politicians fight for increasing the reservation system to different castes just for the sake of garnering more votes. And the list goes on. Alas���God help India.
FYI: I am a Indian and haven't even started my greencard process, for the same emotional reasons you mentioned, intending to R2I soon. Given a choice and circumstances, I would have opted for U.S.C as "I have no hope for this world neither do I wish for it" - quoting Bhagawan Krishna from Bhagavad Gita.

If you have a choice to have a EB3 2001 PD/EB2 2003 PD substitute labor from a consulting company, what will you do?
Will you not want to contact them and file your greencard through them?

Finally I am a US citizen after being 10+ years in this country. This is one of my biggest fulfillments and it means everything to me. US is just not home anymore for me, it is my country.

As I said I am not economy guru, we can read history after 5 years. My point is gold was not inflation proof , last 50 years return was less than other investment types and high volatile.

You cannot do CP for your spouse unless your I-485 is approved (an immigrant visa number is available for you). That is why the adjustment of status within the US is so much more preferable for most people - it lets you and the spouse get the EAD and start working without waiting for the approval of your GC.
My suggestion for you is to get all the paperwork ready for you and your spouse right now. (Except the medical exam for your spouse which has to be done in the US). The medical exam can be completed in 2 days.
Also, there is a chance that the dates will still remain current for the Aug visa bulletin, since the bulletin will get published by the middle of July, and the USCIS will not have an accurate idea of how many applications they will be getting in July. It looks like the retrogression will hit in either Sep or Oct but with USCIS we never know.

Your involvement is more important... you can generate a lot of contribution by spreading the good word & encouraging people to contribute..

It is true that EB3 is unfortunate but the language of the law clearly states that Eb3 will get rolled over numbers that are not used by EB1 and EB2. There is absolutely no confusion about the language. However, it is to be noted that in an ideal situation where the wait is minimal (for which the law was made in the first place), this works perfect!
Unfortunately, EB2 is back logged more than enough for Eb3 to get any numbers trickling down.
Again, the language is simple and easy to understand.
