As a highly-skilled Employment-based immigrant living in Michigan, I am appalled to know a company like Malace - with a diverse workforce - is sponsoring an anti-immigrant show like "WWJ Business Breakfast" with Mr. LOU DOBBS, which is scheduled to air on Nov 29 between 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Dobbs is known for his strong views against immigrants, including considering immigrants to be responsible for the spread of incurable diseases such as Drug-resistant Tuberculosis, Leprosy etc. From past experience on CNN, he is also highly likely to blame the current crisis in Auto Industry to the so-called "importation of cheap labor from third world countries".
He is known to make exaggerated statements such as "Four hundred thousand H1Bs granted in a year" where as facts show otherwise. As per government figures, federal government awarded 124,096 H-1B visas in the fiscal year ending October 2005, the most recent annual totals available. That includes renewed visas, which don't count against the annual cap. These dramatic exaggerations distort the reality and provide a falsified alarmist view of the situation; which works against the interests of Immigrants ,businesses and American economy.
It's not in the best interests of a respected company like Malace & Associates to associate itself with a blatantly anti-immigrant show, that can harm the company's image in the community. I request you to withdraw sponsorship of the show in the best interests of your company and that of the immigrants in the community some of whom may be your workers and business associates.

If you are not in india, then you are somewhere to earn more than you do than in india. So investment is safe if you can afford to invest in that property without a loan. If you are taking a loan you are getting ripped off. STOP there.
to me agricultural land is next to investment in gold. agri land always holds value(sale value) or appreciates over time. Always you can get decent return by farming something there. So my belief is you always get 6%+ return on investment over short/long period of time.

I like the idea of an annual $100 fee to join.. that way all members have contributed.
Secondly, i think while a forum method is good, the Administrators should stop posting vitriolic messages ( For Ex: " I cannot believe people are not donating" / " you should be ashamed.." and such).. This creates a very childish image for this organization.
If there are 25k members and your funding drive is for $30k, why don't you accept $5 and $10 donations?.. Why only $100 or above?.. With 25k members, if we start a drive to donate $1 / member and only 1 in 10 respond, you will reach your funding goal.

1)all lc's irrelevant of when they were approved have a 45 day life after rule gets published. within 45 days the lc has to be used.
2)Since there is no more substitution all lcs not used by the orignal applicant are dead after 45 days.
3)all substituion applications which do not have approved i140 are also dead at the time the rule is published.
This is what i have inferred and i may be wrong! Anyway no more cutting ahead in the queue or sale of lcs also no use anymore for i140 revoking for the employer!! Cheers for this rule!

All that was asked - was to write to the Radio station using their website. Who asked anyone to picket?!!! Re-read my post. I asked members to call up and ask hard questions challenging his credibility. We have nothing to lose by doing so. If we make him fumble, he stands to lose a good following.

What's wrong in using Gandhi's name? Are you allergic to the great man?
Any day a Gandhi quote is better than the - 'This can't be done. That can't be done. It's all in vain' statements, which are highly negative, demoralising and triter than the usage of Gandhi. At least Gandhi quotations are positive and uplifting. And we need that here to balance the pile of the negative statements that get posted.

IV has 25k members, i guess 10% out of those are really motivated to participate and ready do something, if you start diverting your resources towards such issues your team will not have much motivation or people remaining when you really need them to do something. IMO

July bulletin is OUT and NO more significant movement. Please call Lawmakers ASAP. Unless we take action USCIS is not going to do anything. Situation can be worse once we head towards election season. Still we have 1-2 months to get things done or we will be waiting for years to get green card OR EAD ( For some folks ).
It is just 10-15 minutes need to spend to call. Let them know WHO WE ARE AND WHAT ARE OUR ISSUES .

I had a question for all on the eb3 to eb2 porting - once the new EB2 labor gets approved and one applies for I-140 lets say in premium processing with the interfiling letter - does one need to reapply for I-485 once the I-140 is approved for the Eb2 application? This is for many EB3 folks that have been waiting after having applied for for I-485 in 2007. Any insight will be appreciated.

Let's agree to disagree- I am very uncomfortable with the attacks on those who share dissenting views or who attack IV core team etc. Let's not forget that we're a democracy and thus entitled to share dissenting views - it is actually healthy.
On the other hand, at the end of a slugfest, we should make some progress. I have not seen any progress in all slugfests. My previous post has an example.
In my own very narrow/assinine/conceted/... way, progress is contributing to IV. Hence, I am focussed on progress in following.

Lets not fight here. People in pain will cry, whether in EB2 or EB3 or any.
The system is broken and we must make sure its fixed.
Hope we know how people came here 60 years back. They got citizenship on day one. So what do we do. Things change, but there must be an order.
We must contribute to an organization thats trying to help us. Lets not be different to it. We are not living in any ideal world.

With regular quota of 3000 per year EB3I (until July 2007) will be cleared in next 20+ years.

Ok, among the many replies to what i wrote, a few have been rational discussions. A healthy argument is always encouraged. However, I will dissect the above post line by line to pinpoint exactly why some people completely deserve the treatment that they get. Here I demonstrate how a healthy discussion is hijacked by imbeciles and that is why IV is doomed to failure.

i myself was quite clueless about the immigration process when i started out and got stuck in EB3 unnecessarily. Even though my company is one of the best in the industry they had never done H1 or GC before i came along and were quite clueless about it.
This forum is meant for asking immigration questions...lets be helpful rather than speculate on the person's circumstances or acumen.
