Folks,
This my copyright and very much pertain to our situation:
*********************
I left my world in search of prosperity
The prosperity is taking an eternity
My struggle is long and daunting
Making it more and more frustrating
Life at times seems uncontrollable
Flowing with the time unstoppable
Graying hairs testify for the feeling
Fat belly making me further unappealing
Sometimes I think of going back
Try to gather the courage that I lack
But the world I left is not the same any more.
And the world I am in, has lost its lure.
I am on the crossroad of my life
One is forward, one is left and other is right.
I don’t like the choices shown
May be I would have to create a world of my own
***************
Thanks

Hi Mirchiseth,
Thanks for sharing the Info on your Case.
This is Indeed a very good news.
So far we have 2 Successful Cases wherein H1B Transfer was done
Successfully after Candidate Entered US on Advance Parole.
Hi All
I have been following this thread for the last few days and wanted to share some info. Hoping it would be useful.
I entered the country in Jan 08 using the AP while I was still working for my GC sponsoring employer. Then in June 08 I joined another employer by transferring my H1B to the new employer. I did have the option of using EAD but I wasn't sure if the renewal will come before the expiry of current EAD. So decided to transfer H1 and my new employer graciously agreed to it.
We did a premium transfer so got the approval in 2 weeks. Money does wonders (Almost like the proverbial paper weight with files). I confirm that the I94# number on I797 approval notice is same as the I94# number I got when entering the country in Jan 08.
So this should be a good news for folks who are trying to do the same. I am in a different boat right now. I have to travel to India this November. I plan to return using AP. But now my employer is different from my GC sponsoring employer. Another issue is that I am going only for two weeks while my wife will be in India till Mid Jan. So we will enter US separately using AP. Please share your thoughts if you have been in this situation.

I would suggest giving a 2 months trial membership during which the candidate can examine the benefits of IV. After the trail period, charge a nominal $5 monthly fee. I think that should be very reasonable, and nobody would lose their sleep over parting with $5. That would easily raise about $100K per month (~20K members*$5).
However we should continue to encourage members to commit to monthly contributions if they choose to voluntarily. Also as someone suggested, different access privelages may be assigned.

Since all the reps are from California, Is this only for California members?
If not, let me know and I will get on the horn as soon as I can (probably not possible today, maybe tomorrow).
Please call - they may ask you to contact the local rep; just tell them you have already contacted, it should be fine.

From pages 8-9 of Driving jobs and Innovation Offshore (http://www.nfap.com/pdf/071206study.pdf) The impact of high-skill Immigration Restrictions on America, National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) Policy Brief, Dec 2007
India-based Patni Computer Systems agreed with the Department of Labor that the company paid 607 workers on H-1B visas less than the prevailing wage in 2004 and 2005. The Department of Labor did not oppose Patnis contention that this was due to an accounting error, since the government did not assess any additional penalties and concluded Patnis actions were not willful. Patni agreed to pay approximately $2.4 million to the 607 workers, which comes to slightly less than $4,000 each.
It is worth noting that $4,000 per worker is likely less than what the company paid in various legal and government fees to sponsor the workers ($5,000 to $6,000 in legal and government fees).

I am sorry srikondoji but i have to disagree on some points.
"You can come to office at 9:00AM and leave by 6:00PM. No body asks you to stay late unless you work for a consultant. No body asks you to relocate unless you again work for a consultant." .
Yes you can do that. But you work late coz people Not dependant on H1B's can leave on their scheduled times coz if they get laid off, they wont be deported if they dont get a job in 10 days. Sure there is No Formal distinction on paper between H1B's and Non H1Bs, but it is assumed that since ur application depends on the employer (entirely), you will put urself to the grind.
You could easily get a legal immigration if you opt an easier path 'Marry a local'. So, again you have opted a hard way of going through labor certs, I-140, I-48 etc.
What about people who come here already married? Now for those unmarried you have to marry a Citizen to get a Green card. Marriage is a totally seperate thing and is not something that should be used solely for getting a GC (IMHO). Sorry but i do not agree that marrying a citizen is an easier way of doing ur immigration.

Exactly my thoughts. However, that does not mean that I am not proud of heritage and culture of my country-of-origin.
The vast majority of people are here on these forums for getting their GC and USC.
I appreciate everyone who has congratulated me. Thank you so much. Please note that I sill belong to legal immigrant community and nothing can change that.
Good Luck to everyone (and that includes people who have given me red dots with comments) and I hope you get your GC soon.

Proud to be an Indian-American and legal immigrant.
Anyway, I am still confused. If I am proud of my country of origin and its heritage then it must be absolutely impossible for me to entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity with my country of origin. That is the expectation every human society or country generally have and must have to advance its own culture. Well I can not see myself fitting in that "Ethics watch" if I am changiing citizenship. If I am changing citizenship I absolutely do not have strong ethical connection with my heritage and country. And in that case it is fine to change citizenship for me and if I do that I would not speak about pride to my heritage and country. And if I am really and sincerely proud of my country of origin I would not become citizen of other country in spite of any attractive lure. It is that simple.

Does optionexpress platform provide any special advantages related to option trading in terms of strategy analysis etc? I have etrade and I am not sure if i am missing anything
It is the cost. I think optionexpress charges 9.99 flat fee for any number of contracts. Most other well known brokers will charge some flat fee + per contract fee.
When I researched this is the cheapest I could find for individual options trading.

There is no reason for AOS interview. So many people were have been called for interview.. My I-485 is Employment based... I don't have any arrest or anything else on my records... My BC was cleared after 2007 filings so I am not sure why they will delay it second time...

Buying a house is a risky proposition on H1 specially considering the fact that if one is laid-off and needs to relocate within a short-time then one may end up loosing money. Besides getting into the hasseles of home maintainence is trouble-some and expensive and probably not worth the time and effort if one is uncertain about their future in this country.
Having said that if an individual is good at taking calculated risks and has a secure job then rewards are truly exceptional. I would rather wait atleast till the time of filling I-485 before making any long-term investments in this country. I know lot of my friends are probably going to do the same.
Good luck.
Look at my case.
1) EB3 PD March 2002. After more than 4 years I got my Labor.
2) Filed for I-140 . Cannot file 485 now.
3) H1B 9th year going on.
One good thing I did ,I bought a house in Dec 2002.Now If I sell the same house,I will get minimum 100K profit. I will get good appreciation now.I recommend you guys to buy a house now. It is the best time to buy a house, because it is "Buyers market" now ! You can make some money if you sell it later...

The best way to respond this kind of people is to ignore them....
If you are successful, certain people will complain and make up stories how you became successful.
If you fail, the same people will makeup stories how dumb you are etc...
The best way, in my opinion, is to ignore these fools.
Those who are writing negative about IV and their leaders, do not have slightest idea on how much sacrifices they have made (family time, financially, physically, mentally etc) so that most of us could be benefited out of it. If these people think they are not benefited or does not like the idea, please don't read those post or just ignore them and move on, go to the posts that you would be benefited from and logout, I personally would like these people to share their experience and answer questions by others with their best of their knowledge, but if you can’t do that, please don't demoralize others.
And yes, I don't care about RED dots, so bring them on.

looks like ur sunny side is up and its still raw!..;-) (2 posts)
my point is: citizens matter..not voteless aliens..
we cannot have the same game plan as numbersusa...
all i am saying is..maybe we need a newer and innovative approach to get our voices heard.. One speaking head ..not a herd!
we do the "one speak" too.
but herd speak counts.
this is not my "opinion". this is the direct information we have been passed along by lawmaker offices themselves. and you are wrong. whether you vote or not, if you call an office they do listen. if you visit it they listen more. try it and see, i speak from many personal experiences.
if "non voters" voices were so usless, we would not be even this far along by now. when a lot of people voice and opinion- IT DOES GET HEARD.
please do the needful.
we do adopt other strategies too. each one has its own utility. it's own goal and it's own time. right now we need the calls.
